The purpose of physiotherapy is to help people who are affected by injury, illness or disability through education and advice, movement and exercise, and manual therapy. Physiotherapists maintain health for people of all ages, helping patients to manage pain, improve range of movement, increase strength and decrease swelling. The profession aims to facilitate recovery and helping people to stay in work or recreational hobbies.
Do I need a doctor referral to visit Pamber Physio?
Patients may self-refer to Pamber Physio. GP and consultant referrals are also very welcome.
How long should I expect the treatment to last?
Initial consultation is 45 minutes to 1 hour and a follow up session is 40 minutes.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing - be aware you may be asked to undress. Ladies may feel more comfortable to wear a vest top for shoulder and neck assessments. Shorts can be worn for assessment and treatment for knee and ankle joints.
How many sessions will I need?
The first session is an initial assessment with advice and exercises provided, at which time we can discuss a suitable treatment plan and indicate how many sessions are likely to be needed.
How soon after the start of symptoms should I see a physio?
To minimise your downtime due to an injury or ailment, it's best to be assessed by your GP or physio as soon as possible.
Can I be treated at home?
Unfortunately Pamber Physio can only treat patients at the clinic
Does Pamber Physio treat children under the age of 16?
Children require specialist treatment, often from Paediatric care. With regret, Pamber Physio is unable to assist with helping children under the age of 16.
Should I stop taking medication before physiotherapy?
Try not to alter any medication before physiotherapy visits.
How much will it cost?
Initial assessment is £70 and follow up sessions are £55.
How do I pay?
Payment is required at the time of treatment. Card payments can be made at the clinic at no extra charge (all major cards accepted) or bank transfer upon request. Cash is also accepted but no cheques please.
